Electric Car Update
Today I made the order for:
9" Advanced DC Motor
Adaptor Plate
Coupler between motor and transmission
Motor Mount
This is my first big purchase for this project. Much bigger than the price of the car, $150. I measured my 3 crucial dimensions and sent and the clutch plate them to a machine shop in New Hampshire. Live Free or Die. They make the coupler out of the clutch plate. The motor mount is made for the motor, but made to fit in the engine bay of a Chevy S10 pickup. We'll see what kind of mods need to be done to mount this motor mount to my engine bay. I am pretty excited about the parts coming.

Pictures of the electric car conversion project
Converting my Car to Electric
I decided that I need an electric car. It seemed like a good project to convert a car. I'm a Volvo guy, so I bought a 1978 Volvo with a blown engine for $150. Once I got it home I started to pull off the parts I dont need: Off came the radiator, the exhaust, the air box, the trailer hitch. 110 pounds of weight I don't need. Yesterday we got the engine out. It was a great feeling.
