The Two Hour Metallica Rock Block
A few weeks ago, my wife and I were in bed listening to our Bose radio, as we do almost every night. It was a Monday, and in honor of the Stones/Metallica concert at SBC park some FM station, the Bone, or KFOG, or the Hog..one of the rock stations, played a 2-hour Metallica block. It was awesome. I am getting near 40 and somehow the sophmoric content of heavy metal still appeals to me in the extreme. Trapped Under Ice, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Sanitarium, Master of Puppets, Search and Destroy... Those songs just speak to me. We cranked it up.
It is laughable that people burn metal albums. I wish I was at some of those burnings so I could take some of that music home for free. And the best metal band of all time must be Metallica. They really bring the rock. I think they actually are better and more famous than they ever thought they'd be. We all have hopes of of success of some form in our lives, but I think very few of us do better than we had hoped. I really think as of 1989 or so Metallica in their minds had a measure of success which they ended up surpassing. Good for them.
